Minimate Mini-Review #349 - Roadworn Hero Thor & Civilian Loki

#349 - Roadworn Hero Thor/Civilian Loki

I'm not sure what's up with that "Roadworn" name, but how cool is it that Marvel Minimates has given us the only non-Sakaaran Thor from Ragnarok? It also proves our theory that most of his clothes are just what he was wearing to begin with, not something he was given just for gladiator fights. His costume is mostly brown, with the only color coming from the gold discs on his shoulders and belt, and his red cape - since the cape hasn't been ripped yet, it doesn't tuck into his belt, instead fitting like any other cape would. The skirt is a separate piece, but none of the costume details are sculpted: like a throwback to days of yore, almost everything is accomplished via paint. His hair and hammer are existing pieces.

"Civilian Loki," eh? That's what we're calling this now? The suit, the hair, the lines on the face... this isn't Tom Hiddleston, this is Tommy Wiseau! Or maybe it's James Franco as Tommy Wiseau in The Disaster Artist. Either way, he's about to yell at Lisa for tearing him apart, and then greet Mark.

There's not much to say about the toy - an all-black suit with a black shirt and a black tie really doesn't make for complex paint masks, you know? It's nice that this Walgreens exclusive gives us something different for The Lokster, but they could have done his green costume. Or given us a Civilian Thor (with an umbrella!) to go with him.

Hot Toys also released a Thor with the roadworn moniker. Guessing it's some name given by Marvel for merchandising.
