Transformers BotBots Unreelz Dealz review

BotBots' Wilderness Troop was introduced in Series 4, when Hasbro stopped including any art of the mall and its stores. And that penny-pinching trend continued in Series 5, so other than knowing this one would have been found on the second floor, we don't know where he'd be or what he'd be doing.

If we had to guess, though? Hanging over the railing and fishing for something in the ground floor's decorative fountain, because this is a fishing pole. Or, sorry, a fishing rod: a fishing rod has guide rings and a reel, while a fishing pole is just a stick and a string, like a cartoon character would use. The spool is blue, while the bail and roller are gray. Judging by the stock photo, the handle is supposed to be black at the tip and gray closer to the body, but it was painted backwards, so now you have to turn the handle the wrong direction if you want it to look right.

In addition to losing the art, Series 5 also stopped including any instructions. Fortunately, BotBots are meant to be simple, so you can figure this out. Fold the handle into feet and turn it sideways, rotate the handle out, and fold the pole in half everywhere you can.

Unreelz Dealz has a deal for you! He's got the latest, greatest thing you never knew you needed (and probably don't!). As a reelin' and dealin' salesbot, he hooks customers with his enthusiasm and reels them in with his zany gadgets, like the combination tooth and toilet brush! You can brush your teeth and clean your toilet at the same time for just 5 easy payments of $29.99!

This is not a great robot. For one thing, it's back-heavy, and so incredibly difficult to stand up. Having a single angry eye on the front of a tubular body is a unique idea, but the right arm, made from the pole, looks bad, and the mispainted left arm doesn't make up for it.

Because BotBots Series 5 doesn't have any dedicated Wilderness Troop sets, Unreelz Dealz is available in a Frequent Flyers 8-pack, or a Hibotchi Heats 5-pack.
