Figuretoon Quickies

"Super Gabagool Bros."
7/31/13

So we're back! After a few weeks off to make sure you saw Rustin's 100th Spoils and then our SDCC coverage, it's back to having Figuretoons on the front page!

Mario, Luigi and the Princess all come from various series of the K'Nex blind bags. "Bowser" is actually the Komodo Clan Dragon from Series 3 of McFarlane's Dragons, who we've always thought looked suspiciously Koopa-ish. The backdrop, obviously, is directly from the original Super Mario Bros. The treatment of Mario like a gibbering mental patient is all ours, however.

"Pasta fazool" is the American pronunciation of the dish pasta e fagioli. "Hospitaliano" is one of the made-up nonsense "Italian-ish" words used by made-up nonsense "Italian-ish" restaurant Olive Garden. Spaghetti and meatballs shouldn't need any explanation. And finally, the "gabagool" of the title is the Sopranos-style mispronunciation of the spicy lunchmeat capicola.

Vision-Impaired Transcript

Luigi: This is getting too real for me. I'm outta here.
Mario: Pastafazool! SpaghettiMeatball! Hospitaliano!
