Instead of just Autobots and Decepticons, the Transformers BotBots got divided into various teams based on what store in the mall they hail from. In the first section of the mall, there were two home and garden stores, both bringing us the members of the Shed Heads; today's figure was downstairs.
The Shed Heads were a mix of plants and tools, so having a hammer as an altmode makes sense. Because of the way the toys are made, it has to be an exceptionally short, fat hammer, proportioned more like Little Tikes than Craftsman. Massively chunky! It's mostly black, with some orange details on the shaft, while the head/cheek and the claw are painted flat silver. Nail Byter uses the same engineering Mucker Von Diggs would in a later series, but the two share none of the same molds. That means he converts by tipping the head back, pulling out the arms, and twisting the base around to show the feet.
Nail Byter rocks out so hard he sometimes head bangs right into the wall. He gets really nervous when he breaks things, but he just can't help moving to the music! The more he breaks, the more nervous he gets.
On the official art for the character, the hammer's claw is attached to the robot's arm, like he's wielding a weapon. That is... not a thing on the final toy. Was he planned to transform differently at the early stages? Possibly. Could they not have redone the art? Absolutely. He has solid blue eyes, and a silver grille over his mouth. His hands are silver, too, otherwise we'd never been able to see them. The orange on his chest and arms is matched by his newly revealed feet.
