"Master Splinter is clearly maybe thirty or forty, but feels like he's a hundred years old. He also seems to have no concept of money or how to dress outside of Feudal-era Japan, at least according to that one episode when he became human again."

"Black and White Morality"
4/24/13

As mentioned in the Protector review, the new Marvel Legends seems to have a real fascination with characters wearing whte and black. ML2 alone gave us Fantomex, Future Foundation Spider-Man, and one half of the "Marvel's Madames" variant pair.

As Madame Masque said, Uncanny Avengers was a book based on the idea of comingling X-Men and Avengers. And if the X-Men can field a special ops team that all wears black and grey, then the Avengers can have a color-coded team as well. And come to think of it, X-Force employed villains, didn't they? It all comes full circle!

Vision-Impaired Transcript

Madame Masque: I know you had success adding mutants with the "Uncanny Avengers"--
Madame Masque: --and Spider-Man is an Avenger from way back--
Madame Masque: --but are you sure you want to add a villain for this... what did you call it?
Protector: "The Cookies 'n' Cream Avengers."
