Wolverinepool

Deadpool & Wolverine
by yo go re

Okay, why would you call this "Wolverinepool" when "Poolverine" was right there?

Concept art by the Marvel Studios production design team.

Yes, despite the fact that they haven't even come close to making all the interesting/recognizable/desirable members of the MCU Deadpool Corps (Lady, Kid, Golden Age, Zen, Samurai, 2099, Greatest Showman, Sherlock, Cupid, Scottish, Baby, and Nice, just off the top of my head), Hasbro has started doing figures based on concept art. They're doing the same for Doomsday, but that's a "we don't want to solicit spoiler toys" thing, while this is just about reusing molds: there are two Concept Art DP3 figures right now, one of which is just Deadpool in gray, and the other one is this.

The first time we saw a Wolverine/Deadpool combo was in Exiles #85, on a world that had been overrun by alternate reality Wolverines, suggesting he's a Logan; the next appeared as part of the Evil Deadpool Corps, suggesting he's a Wade; in the licensed Shonen Jump Shueisha collab Deadpool: Samurai, he was a clone made from both Wolverine and Deadpool's genes, so technically he'd be both?Or neither?

If you're surprised that this is just the existing Wolverine mold with a new head, then welcome to the hobby, it's cool to have new fans like yourself join us and you should in no way feel bad about not already knowing the way most toy companies work in 2026. Since I didn't get the Wolverine toy with sleeves, there's at least a little bit of this that serves as different for me (and that's even before we bring up that he's been given a different belt, one that's more Deadpool-y). The shoulder pads seem to connect a little bit low, which is a concession to the articulation: in order for the shoulders to move the way they do, the pads had to be moved to the outside slightly, and so even if you don't think they visibly stand out as being in the wrong place, you'll spot it subconciously.

It's to Hasbro's credit that they didn't just reuse the same paint masks from Wolverine. The costume has Wade's traditional red-and-black colorscheme, but none of the patterns are a direct duplicate of what Logan wears. It's not a direct port of the shapes from the Deadpool uniform, either, but its own unique thing. We will say that Deadpool looks a little weird without any kind of harness or straps on his chest, though. The mask covers the entire face, rather than leaving the mouth exposed, suggesting that whether this is Wade or Logan, he still has a cancerous complexion.

With only a new head (and belt), Wolverinepool's articulation remains unchanged: swivel/hinge ankles, no shins, double-hinged knees, swivel thighs, balljointed hips, a swivel waist, hinged torso, swivel/hinge wrists, double-hinged elbows, swivel biceps, swivel/hinge shoulders, pectoral balljoints, and a barbell head. He has no accessories, but you do get your choice of hands with or without adamantium claws. The unclawed left hand is open like it's going to hold an accessory, if you want to lend him someone else's gun.

There may be a lot of actual on-screen Deadpools who're still waiting to get their toys, but that doesn't mean Wolverinepool isn't good - honestly, this is more a case of "why the heck didn't the movie use him" than "why are they making this". This design would have looked so cool on-screen! There are other concept art figures we'd like to see, as well, so it's not like this is a bad idea in any regard; it's just weird to get this before the real versions.
